LETTUCE EXPLAIN
Carrots & Co was sprouted with the aim and hope of every child being able to identify, name and familiarise themselves with all the spectacular vegetables and fruit that Australia has to offer. By helping to make fruit and vegetables as cool as a cucumber through songs, puppet shows, dancing, interactive games, and drama, this will in turn help to increase their uptake and intake of fresh produce. Our program helps with the timeless challenge for parents to get their kids to eat more veg and fruit! One of the greatest things you can do to improve your health and well-being is to eat more vegetables and fruit. Good habits and food choices start early and Carrots & Co feel privileged to be able to help inspire children on this very important journey.
By showcasing fresh produce in a fun and engaging way, hopefully this sparks their curiosity and encourages the children to go home and fill their plates with colourful produce!
Sadly, only 4.6% of children aged between 2-17 years of age in Australia eat the recommended serves of vegetables each day[1] and whilst this is a bit of a pickle, Carrots & Co believe their innovative and unique approach will help to make veggies the FOOD HEROES that they are and encourage a higher intake.
Getting children to eat more veggies and fruit is a timeless challenge and can feel like a battle, however, "we all need to be teaching our children about real and fake foods with the same zeal that we teach them how to walk, read and write."[2]
