Our in-house developed ‘The Travelling Fruit & Vegetable Show’ incursion program is heading into Melbourne’s Western, Northern & Eastern/South Eastern suburbs, and we’re on the hunt for energetic, creative performers who want to treat this like their own business. The greater success you make of it, the greater the reward!
We’re all about making healthy fruit and veg education fun for little ones through play-based incursions in Early Learning Centres and Kindergartens. We strive to turn fresh produce into the stars of the show.

About the Program
The Travelling Fruit & Vegetable Show is a lively, interactive variety-show incursion designed for 2–5 year olds. We use songs, movement and dance, games, drama and puppets to make fruit and vegetables as cool as a cucumber! Children get to meet different produce, pick up fun facts, and have a spud-tacular time playing with them – all in a super fun, engaging way that helps them naturally fall in love with fresh food. Our aim is to help children familiarise themselves with vegetables and fruit (without harping on about how healthy it  is for you), to help increase their uptake and intake.

About the Role
You’ll pop into Early Learning Centres, Childcares and Kindergartens (mostly mornings) and run fun, high-energy 45-minute sessions to groups of up to 25 children. You could have anywhere from 1 to 4 sessions in a day, depending on the centre. Each week, you’ll grab fresh fruit and veg from your local grocer (we'll provide you an allowance and the shopping list), set up with our equipment and props, deliver the show, and pack up ready for the next one. It’s hands-on, it’s fun, and it’s all about bringing joy and healthy habits to the kids!

Essential Criteria

• Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) - You will need to have or obtain an "employee" level WWCC. 

• ABN (this is a contractor role)

• Right to work in Australia

• A P1, P2, Full driver’s licence and your own reliable vehicle as you need to take the equipment with you. 

• Background or experience in performing arts and the confidence to perform in front of a crowd

• Available at least two mornings per week

• Super reliable and always on time

• Bubbly, friendly and outgoing personality

• Happy to collect selected fruit and vegetables from your local grocer each week (weekly allowance & list provided)

Desirable Criteria

• Previous experience working with children (early childhood, teaching, performance or similar)

• A genuine passion for healthy eating and a real love of fruit and veg!

• Flexible shifts during school hours Mon-Fri

• $60 per 45-minute session + super. 

• Weekly fruit and veg allowance for the weekly shows.

Send us your resume and a short cover letter, including your suburb, plus a quick video of yourself singing a children’s song or nursery rhyme and tell us your favourite vegetable and why. No need to be a pro-singer or Spielberg production levels – we’re looking for confidence, heaps of energy, and the ability to really light up and engage with the kids.
