LettuCE EXPLAIN
Carrots & Co was sprouted with the aim and hope of every child being able to identify, name and familiarise themselves with all the spectacular vegetables and fruit that Australia has to offer. By helping to make fruit and vegetables as cool as a cucumber through songs, puppet shows, movement and dance, interactive games and drama, this will in turn help to increase their uptake and intake of fresh produce.
Our program tackles that age-old challenge for parents: getting the kids to munch on more fruit and veg! By showcasing fresh produce in a super fun, engaging and positive way, hopefully this sparks their curiosity and encourages the children to go home and fill their plates with colourful produce! Good habits and smart food choices start early, and here at Carrots & Co, we feel honoured to inspire children on this exciting journey.
Sadly, only 4.6% of children aged between 2-17 years of age in Australia eat the recommended serves of vegetables each day[1] and whilst this is a bit of a pickle, Carrots & Co believe their innovative and unique approach will help to make veggies the FOOD HEROES that they are and encourage a higher intake.
Getting children to eat more veggies and fruit is a timeless challenge and can feel like a battle, however, "we all need to be teaching our children about real and fake foods with the same zeal that we teach them how to walk, read and write."[2]
